A client of AlphaStaffHCM is looking for a Project Manager/ Estimator to join their team. The company has been a trusted provider of large‑scale commercial and government landscape services for decades and is known for its strong culture, excellent employee retention, and highly collaborative environment. Though large in revenue and footprint, it operates with a small‑team feel and works closely with numerous subcontractors.
Day to day:
- The Project Manager is responsible for managing landscape enhancement projects from concept through completion (cradle-to-grave). This includes designing, bidding, scheduling, overseeing installation, and final billing of projects. This person will work on a mix of beautification projects, new landscape installs, drainage and erosion control, and upgrades to commercial properties. This individual will also help build and maintain client relationships to drive repeat business and future revenue opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare project bids, estimates, and proposals for commercial landscape enhancements
- Develop renderings and basic landscape designs for client projects
- Manage the full lifecycle of projects from kickoff through completion and billing
- Coordinate and schedule field crews, ensuring efficient labor allocation
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure quality execution
- Oversee landscape installations, drainage solutions, and erosion control projects
- Partner with internal teams on larger construction-related scopes when needed
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support ongoing revenue growth
- Track project progress, budgets, and timelines using Excel and internal tools
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to client expectations
Must have's:
- Project management experience or experience as a superintendent for a general contractor
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Stable work history and willingness to learn
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Plant knowledge or horticulture background
- Experience creating renderings or landscape designs
- Prior experience in commercial landscaping or enhancement projects
Compensation and Perks:
- Salary: $52,000 – $65,000
- Commission on completed jobs
- Fuel card, vehicle allowance, phone allowance, laptop provided
