A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife for a Women’s HealthCare company who is responsible for assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nurse midwifery care delivered to antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients. The CNM performs physical exams, collects and documents data, manages labor and delivery, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, and prescribes appropriate interventions and medications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct clinical services and management of mothers and babies in clinic and hospital setting.
  • Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations. Document findings noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
  • Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patient and family.
  • Formulate and implement prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum care within the CNM scope of practice.
  • Assess patient for change in status and institute appropriate interventions. Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient.
  • Provide patient and family education related to prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
  • Assists with telephone triage of patients in the clinic setting and while on call.    
  • Assists attending physician with C-sections.
  • Provides continuity, compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients, and models this for colleagues and students.
  • Documents all patient care, communications and prescriptions in electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Utilize prescriptive privileges as allowed by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for professional practice through continuing education. Enhance knowledge through oral presentations, posters, research activities, and written communication.
  • Role model advanced practice professional nursing through conduct, appearance, communication, mutual respect, leadership, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • CNM interests and responsibilities extend to the community level where they strive to improve maternal/child health from a patient- centered/family-centered approach.
  • Assists in the recruitment and orientation of new CNMs. Precept nurse midwifery students and healthcare learners.
  • Proficient use of EMR and other software necessary to obtain information for patient care (Cover my meds, Outlook email, answering service app, Greenway, EPIC)
  • Demonstrate an understanding, knowledge, and adherence of HIPAA Privacy and Security regulatory policies and internal procedures with respect to Protected Health Information (PHI) Use and Disclosure. 

 

Environment:

  • Standard schedule is Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • This role includes travel once or twice a month to the Fayetteville location.

 

Must Have Qualifications

  • Current State of Georgia RN and CNM license. CNM certification by American Midwifery Certification Board (ACMB).
  • 3+ years of experience as a CNM
  • Knowledge of Epic
  • Ability to obtain hospital privileges

 

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Active Georgia nursing license (RN or LPN).
  • Specific clinical experience in an OB/GYN setting
  • Experience with Epic EHR

 

Environment:

  • Standard schedule is Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM when in office and an on call hospital schedule of 7:00am - 7:00pm or 7:00pm - 7:00am
  • Location: Piedmont Fayette hospital and clinic locations of either Fayette and Newnan or Fayette and Stockbridge
  • This role includes on call hospital shifts and travel between 2 of the office locations
