A client of AlphaStaffHCM is looking for an Accountant in New Jersey.


Job Summary

As an Accountant, you will support sales, production, and financial operations by managing receivables and payables, analyzing product costs, preparing tax filings and reporting, maintaining inventory controls, and supporting process improvement initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally within a growing global manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities


Financial & Accounting Operations

  • Reconcile monthly sales data and financial records.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Process landed cost raw material and inventory transfer vouchers.
  • Prepare and review commission payments and reports based on monthly sales representative data.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare and review domestic and international sales tax filings, including applicable tax requirements.
  • Prepare required monthly domestic and international sales and export reporting.
  • Assist with regulatory, quality control, and risk assessment documentation required by customers.

Cost Analysis & Inventory Management

  • Prepare product cost analyses to support business decisions and profitability evaluations.
  • Manage inventory verification controls and related reporting activities.
  • Support inventory accuracy through analysis, verification, and process controls.

Process Improvement & Systems Support

  • Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements to increase operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in technical system improvement discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve reporting accuracy, workflows, and financial controls.

Business Partnership & Communication

  • Partner with sales and production teams to support business operations and reporting needs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, clients, and internal stakeholders through various communication channels.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned financial and operational tasks while maintaining quality standards.

Must Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with tax accounting, including Sales Tax, GST, VAT, or similar tax structures.
  • Experience using ERP and CRM systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality work standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience interacting with customers and business partners in a professional environment.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and cost analysis.
  • Experience supporting international business operations and reporting.
  • Experience participating in system implementation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of export reporting requirements.

Compensation and Perks

Salary range: $60-75K
