At AlphaStaffHCM, we believe that precision is the backbone of trust. We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Reconciliation Analyst to join our team.


In this critical role, you will ensure the integrity of our financial operations by verifying that every transaction in our billing system aligns perfectly with business partner payments and client billings.


Salary range: $27.88 to $32.69 per hour.

What You’ll Do: is not limited to

  • Balance the Books: Compare and reconcile benefit plan insurance carrier invoices against client billings to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Investigate & Resolve: Dive deep into the data to research and resolve discrepancies between billings and invoices.
  • Collaborate: Partner closely with the Benefit Administration team to clear outstanding reconciliations and streamline workflows.
  • Drive Payments: Prepare and manage carrier payment requests within Salesforce.
  • Be the Point of Contact: Provide exceptional support to insurance carriers and ensure all carrier data remains current and accurate.
  • Audit & Improve: Self-monitor your work for quality assurance and assist the Team Lead with special projects and strategic reconciliation activities.


What You Bring to the Table

  • Excel Mastery: You are a pro with VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables. (Note: An Excel assessment is part of our interview process.)
  • Analytical Mindset: You can define complex problems, analyze situations logically, and draw valid, actionable conclusions.
  • Accounting Fluency: A solid grasp of general accounting principles.
  • Communication Pro: Excellent verbal and written skills with a knack for diligent follow-up.
  • Independence: Highly organized and able to exercise professional judgment while working autonomously.
  • Bonus Points: Prior experience in benefits/payroll administration, or specific familiarity with FSA, HSA, and COBRA.


Skills & Competencies

  • Excel Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Formulas, and Pivot Tables) required to manage financial data; candidates will be required to complete an assessment.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to logically define complex problems, identify root causes, and determine actionable solutions.
  • Accounting & Financial Fluency: Solid understanding of general accounting principles to ensure precision in reviewing invoices, billing data, and reconciliations.
  • Communication & Support: Excellent verbal and written skills with a focus on diligent follow-up and providing solutions-focused support to internal teams and clients.
  • Autonomy & Professional Judgment: Highly organized with the ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and apply sound judgment in reconciliation activities.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners, including Payroll, Billing, and Client Technology.
  • Technical Familiarity: Comfort navigating HRIS, billing, or benefits administration systems.
  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience in benefits or payroll administration (including FSA, HSA, or COBRA) is highly desirable.

 

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, with work performed on a computer in either a corporate office or a remote home office setting.

The role may require using telephones, participating in virtual or in-person meetings, attending company events, and completing training sessions.
